Position Details

• Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts per week (weekends required)

• No Return to Office (RTO): From 2/22 to 2/28

Required Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification preferred
• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED acceptable)
• Previous travel experience preferred

Certifications & Competencies

• Required Certifications:

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA only (Instructor/Provider and RQI acceptable)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - AHA only (Instructor/Provider and RQI acceptable)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - Required for ER, ER OB, and ER Psych units
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - Required for L&D, Post-Partum, and OB units
  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) - Facility-specific expiration rules apply
  • State License Verification within 30 days of start
  • National Tech Certification (if applicable) within 30 days of start
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (annual)
  • NIH Stroke Certification (if applicable, typically ICU, PCU, ED, Brain & Spine units)
• Competency Exams:

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required for Aya candidates)
  • Unit-Specific Competency Exam
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for all RNs within 1 year of start, updated annually)

Background & Compliance Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including:

  • SS Trace
  • Counties lived/worked
  • Nationwide search
  • Sex Offender Registry
  • Motor Vehicle Record (if driving is part of the job)
• FBI and BCI fingerprinting required within 1 year of start using specific code (3701.881)
• Pending background check attestation allowed if fingerprint results are pending
• Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG monitoring
• Education accreditation confirmation required immediately after contract signing
• High School transcript or diploma required (including graduation date)
• Background acknowledgement form required for subcontractors
• Confidential Fraud, Waste, Abuse, and Compliance Reporting form required
• Fraud, Waste, and Abuse Training Certificate required prior to start and updated annually
• Ethics and Compliance Policies must be reviewed and signed annually (new contracts only)

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine (adult dose after age 11/12)
• Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSPOT) within 1 year or chest x-ray if positive
• TB questionnaire required annually in lieu of TB test
• MMR Vaccines or positive titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, and Rubella
• Hepatitis B titer or 3-vaccine series (signed declination acceptable)
• Varicella vaccines or positive titer (medical exemptions reviewed)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (includes amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cannabinoids, cocaine, methadone, methaqualone, opiates, PCP, propoxyphene)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31); decliners must wear a mask
• COVID-19 vaccination not required but strongly recommended; proof of primary vaccination collected if available

• Two professional references required (at least one from a manager or formal leadership)

• Dress code and hand hygiene policy must be reviewed and signed
• Proof of fingerprint completion required for subcontractors (physical receipt or photo of fingerprint cards)
