Description
Registered Nurse (ER) - Travel/Contract
Location: Clinton, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Position: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)
- Shift: 3x12 hour shifts, 1900-0730
- Ratio: 1:4 patient ratio
- Every other weekend and every other holiday required
- Float within skillset as needed
Requirements
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years nursing experience
- Travel experience required
- Within past 8 months, must have worked in an ED with at least 125 patients/day
- Triage experience required
Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC certified
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA or ARC certified
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification required
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam) with:
- Minimum overall score of 80%
- 100% score on lethal rhythms section
- Other certifications may be required based on unit (e.g., TNCC, NRP, EFM)
Skills:
- Expert prioritization and organizational skills to manage a fast-paced ER environment
- IV starts and phlebotomy skills required
Compliance & Documentation
Criminal background check within 90 days, including multi-state searches
E-Verify and I9 documentation required
Valid state nursing license verification prior to start
Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform job duties without accommodations
Immunizations and health documentation required:
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within last year (or annual questionnaire if prior positive)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) documentation or titers
- Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
- COVID-19 vaccination strongly recommended; declination requires mask use
Annual competency exams and safety manual acknowledgements required
Medication test/pharmacology competency exam within 3 years, minimum 80% score
Color blindness testing (online or in-person) required
Additional Notes
- Locals within 60 miles may be accepted at a different rate
- Candidate must complete facility-specific modules prior to start
- Two positive supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment, supporting at least two years of experience in the last three years
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education and license information
