Description

Cardiopulmonary Therapist (Contract)

Location: Herrin, Illinois
Employment Type: Contract
Shift: Night shift, 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM

Qualifications

Must be a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Required certifications:
- RRT
- Illinois State License
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program - Maternal Health Care (NRP-MHC)
Education: Associate’s degree required

Contract Length

13 weeks

Role Responsibilities

Evaluate patient outcomes and adjust care plans within a multidisciplinary team
Provide explanations and instructions to patients and/or responsible parties regarding respiratory disease processes, interventions, and discharge instructions
Accept reassignment to other units as needed
Share clinical knowledge with staff and students; serve as a clinical practice role model
Plan, implement, and evaluate the effectiveness of respiratory care
Provide respiratory care as ordered by physicians, maintaining communication with medical and nursing staff
