Description
Echo Technician - Massachusetts (Newton)
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Requirements
- Perform quality and complete echocardiogram studies independently and as part of a team
- Maintain integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Demonstrate technical skills and judgment to function unsupervised
- Excellent verbal, written communication, interpersonal, customer service, organizational, and time management skills
- Ability to meet deadlines consistently
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited non-invasive cardiovascular training program focused on echocardiography
- Completion of a recognized course in arrhythmia detection
- Minimum 2 years current experience as a registered echocardiographer
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) certification required
- CPR certification (AHA or ARC accepted)
Onboarding & Credentialing Requirements
Certifications & Licenses
- BLS certification (AHA, Red Cross, CHSF, or Military; AHA preferred)
- Professional license/certification verification (Primary source verification required within 30 days of start; MA Conditional Licenses not accepted)
- National MA Certification preferred for Medical Assistants
Health & Immunizations
- N95 Fit Test within 365 days of start and updated annually (no religious exemptions)
- Documentation of MMR immunity (vaccines or blood test)
- Influenza vaccine required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30), no exemptions
- TB test documentation within 3 months of start (skin test or blood test), updated if >6 month break
- Physician health statement within 365 days of start, updated if >6 month break
- Hepatitis B vaccine or immunity proof strongly preferred
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred
- Positive PPD requires negative chest X-ray documentation (if applicable)
Professional Checks
- Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start, updated if >6 month break
- Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start, updated if >6 month break
- National sex offender registry check within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
- Exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid) within 30 days prior to start and annually
- Social Security Number trace as part of background check
Documentation & Submission
- Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city & state (required for submission)
- Two recent references (minimum one supervisor or above in skillset) (required for submission)
- Skills checklist (required for submission)
- Candidate submission coversheet (required for submission)
- Confirmation of assignment/POI form upon acceptance and for extensions
- Education verification through background check company (highest level achieved)
Additional
- Respirator Medical Clearance attestation (if fit test required)
- MGB NWH Self-Study Orientation & Attestation (required for onboarding)
This position requires thorough credentialing and compliance with health and professional standards prior to start.
