Description
Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
Facility: Hospital in Greensboro, NC (Cardiac Tele Unit)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Schedule
- 3x12 hour shifts, nights (7 PM - 7 AM)
- Every other weekend
- Holidays as needed
- Floating required as needed
Experience & Skills Required
- Minimum 2 years nursing experience (first-time travelers welcome)
- Cardiac Telemetry experience required
- Focus on cardiac patients: Congestive Heart Failure, rule-out myocardial infarction, Acute Coronary Syndrome, Arrhythmias
- Secondary focus on respiratory issues: COPD, pneumonia
- Patient diagnoses commonly seen: Heart Failure, Respiratory Failure, NSTEMI, COPD, Pneumonia
Certifications Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or ARC
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC
- Pass/Fail EKG exam required for all RNs (must score 82% or higher, 2 attempts allowed)
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
- State RN License primary source verification within 30 days of start
- NURSYS verification within 60 days of start
- Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
- Other certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., NIH Stroke Certification for Cardiac Progressive Care)
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Social Security Card (for badge issuance)
- Background Check within 60 days covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years, including:
- Social Security Trace with all aliases
- National Criminal Search
- Federal Court, Sex Offender, FACIS Level 3
- Education Verification (primary source, strict requirements)
- International education equivalency evaluation if applicable
- Transcript/Diploma for highest education (if applicable)
- Fingerprinting (NC SBI Fingerprint Results) required for Home Health and Long-Term Care only
- Education Verification: Associate’s degree in nursing or higher required for RN
- High School Diploma/GED verification as applicable
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 40 days of start
- Immunizations and Health Documents:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (adult Tdap required)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 6 months
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) immunity or vaccination series
- Hepatitis B titer or declination
- Varicella immunity or vaccination series
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved exemption (required annually)
- COVID-19 vaccination or declination accepted
- Fit Mask test (N95) completed within current calendar year, updated annually (not required for some non-clinical or specific roles)
Testing & Competency Exams
- Pass/Fail EKG/Dysrhythmia exam required for all RNs except Behavioral Health and Case Managers
- Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam (must score 80% or higher)
- Color Blind Testing (online) as applicable
- Competency Exams as applicable to specialty
Additional Requirements
- 2 supervisory references required from clinical positions (within 12 and 24 months)
- Employment application/resume with 7-year work history
- Verification of all employment within last 5 years through third-party vendor
- Annual skills checklist with one-week grace period for renewal
- Candidate must review and sign floating policy and contractor equipment acknowledgement form
- Badge photo meeting strict facility requirements (no selfies, solid color background, business casual/uniform attire, forward-facing)
Important Notes
- Candidate must be flexible with scheduling and aware of zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
- Compliance deadline is 12 Noon EST the Wednesday prior to start date
- Candidate must be aware of the Pass/Fail EKG exam requirement
- Facility will not accept any open hits on background check; all cases must be cleared before start
- First-time travelers are welcome
