Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
Facility: Hospital in Greensboro, NC (Cardiac Tele Unit)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Schedule

• 3x12 hour shifts, nights (7 PM - 7 AM)
• Every other weekend
• Holidays as needed
• Floating required as needed

Experience & Skills Required

• Minimum 2 years nursing experience (first-time travelers welcome)
• Cardiac Telemetry experience required
• Focus on cardiac patients: Congestive Heart Failure, rule-out myocardial infarction, Acute Coronary Syndrome, Arrhythmias
• Secondary focus on respiratory issues: COPD, pneumonia
• Patient diagnoses commonly seen: Heart Failure, Respiratory Failure, NSTEMI, COPD, Pneumonia

Certifications Required

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or ARC
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC
• Pass/Fail EKG exam required for all RNs (must score 82% or higher, 2 attempts allowed)
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
• State RN License primary source verification within 30 days of start
• NURSYS verification within 60 days of start
• Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
• Other certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., NIH Stroke Certification for Cardiac Progressive Care)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Social Security Card (for badge issuance)
• Background Check within 60 days covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years, including:

  • Social Security Trace with all aliases
  • National Criminal Search
  • Federal Court, Sex Offender, FACIS Level 3
  • Education Verification (primary source, strict requirements)
  • International education equivalency evaluation if applicable
• Transcript/Diploma for highest education (if applicable)
• Fingerprinting (NC SBI Fingerprint Results) required for Home Health and Long-Term Care only
• Education Verification: Associate’s degree in nursing or higher required for RN
• High School Diploma/GED verification as applicable
• Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 40 days of start
• Immunizations and Health Documents:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (adult Tdap required)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 6 months
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) immunity or vaccination series
  • Hepatitis B titer or declination
  • Varicella immunity or vaccination series
  • Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved exemption (required annually)
  • COVID-19 vaccination or declination accepted
• Fit Mask test (N95) completed within current calendar year, updated annually (not required for some non-clinical or specific roles)

Testing & Competency Exams

• Pass/Fail EKG/Dysrhythmia exam required for all RNs except Behavioral Health and Case Managers
• Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam (must score 80% or higher)
• Color Blind Testing (online) as applicable
• Competency Exams as applicable to specialty

Additional Requirements

• 2 supervisory references required from clinical positions (within 12 and 24 months)
• Employment application/resume with 7-year work history
• Verification of all employment within last 5 years through third-party vendor
• Annual skills checklist with one-week grace period for renewal
• Candidate must review and sign floating policy and contractor equipment acknowledgement form
• Badge photo meeting strict facility requirements (no selfies, solid color background, business casual/uniform attire, forward-facing)

Important Notes

• Candidate must be flexible with scheduling and aware of zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
• Compliance deadline is 12 Noon EST the Wednesday prior to start date
• Candidate must be aware of the Pass/Fail EKG exam requirement
• Facility will not accept any open hits on background check; all cases must be cleared before start
• First-time travelers are welcome
