Physical Therapist - Rehabilitation Therapy
Location: Hebron, Nebraska
Employment Type: Contract (13 weeks)
Schedule: Full-Time, 40 hours/week, Days
Position Summary
Seeking a full-time Physical Therapist to provide high-quality rehabilitation services primarily for outpatient orthopedic cases, with additional inpatient and swing bed therapies. The role involves planning, interpreting, and implementing rehabilitation treatment programs in compliance with regulatory requirements and state laws.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy (required)
- Experience in Physical Therapy preferred
- Current and valid Nebraska PT license or Physical Therapy-PT Compact Licensure required
- Must hold a valid driver’s license
- Physical ability to perform job duties, including lifting up to 50 pounds
Responsibilities
- Plan and evaluate patient treatment programs in coordination with medical staff
- Administer treatment programs and clarify physician instructions
- Evaluate patient needs and discuss treatment plans with patients, families, and medical staff
- Maintain patient records, charts, and discharge summaries
- Educate patients and families on care and exercise programs
- Assist other therapists and participate in training medical and nursing personnel
- Maintain quality assurance, safety, infection control, and department cleanliness
- Use mechanical and modality equipment and assistive devices proficiently
- Direct assistants and qualified staff in treatment administration
- Attend required meetings and participate in committees
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
- Keep Nebraska physical therapy license active and current
Performance Standards
- Adhere to organizational policies and procedures
- Maintain professional licensure and comply with state laws
- Uphold patient confidentiality and compliance program requirements
- Demonstrate professionalism, respect, integrity, compassion, and excellence
- Maintain neat appearance and high personal hygiene standards
Working Conditions
- Primarily indoor, smoke-free, climate-controlled environment with occasional outdoor work
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and stooping
- Exposure to infectious materials possible
- Requires full range of body motion, manual dexterity, and eye-hand coordination
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Additional Information
- BLS/BCLS certification required
- Housing is limited; motel/hotel research recommended
- On-call rooms available upon request
