Position Details

Unit Information

• Unit: Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
• Number of OR Suites: 3
• Staffing:

  • Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 3-4 RNs, 2 Scrub Techs, 1 Aide or Anesthesia Tech
  • Night Shift: 3-member call team
• Patient Ratios: 3 staff members per OR
• Equipment: Open Heart, Vascular, Thoracic
• EMR System: Meditech

Required Skills and Experience

• Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty
• Clinical Experience:

  • Cardiac, Vascular, and Thoracic Operating Room experience required
  • Ability to scrub Cardiac and Vascular cases preferred
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS
• Licenses: Registered Nurse License
• Other Requirements:

  • Punctuality with 30-minute call-back time
  • Flexible schedule
  • Call requirement approximately one weekend per month and 2-3 days per week

• Fistula creation/interventions
• VATS (Video-Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery)
• Thoracotomy
• Fem-pop bypass
• Angiograms with interventions
• LVAD (Left Ventricular Assist Device)
• RVAD (Right Ventricular Assist Device)
• ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation)
• Level 2 trauma coverage for vascular and thoracic procedures

Work Environment and Culture

• Small, tight-knit team with long-term staff (some with nearly 20 years tenure)
• Self-motivated, team-oriented, and flexible personality fit preferred
• Scrubs provided (scrub color specified by unit)
• Located on the seacoast of New Hampshire, about one hour north of Boston and 1.5 hours south of the White Mountains

Additional Notes

• Time off requests must be submitted during the contract period
• 3-person on-call team every night (2 RNs and 1 scrub tech)
