Travel RN Opportunity – Cardiac Medical Unit

Location: Portsmouth, New Hampshire

Unit Overview

• Unit: Cardiac Medical Unit (Step-down from CSSU and IVCU)
• Patient Population: Med/surg telemetry, stroke overflow
• Restrictions: Cannot take patients post Cath lab unless radial artery used; no chest pain rule out, CHF, COPD patients
• Procedures Performed: Thoracentesis, Peritoneal Dialysis (PD), Tracheostomies, Pacemakers, Cardiac Catheterization, CIWA protocol
• Number of Beds: 20
• Patient Ratios: 5:1
• Staffing: 4 RN teams with free CNC, 2 LNA’s, and a Unit Clerk
• Equipment: IV pumps, Sara Steady lifts, Hi-flow oxygen, BiPAP, Kangaroo pumps
• Documentation System: Meditech Expanse
• Scheduling: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; every other weekend or 4-week shift rotation
• Floating Policy: Not specified
• Patient Experience: Bedside shift rounds and handoff required
