Travel Rad Therapist Opportunity
Location: Richmond, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Overview
Seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist for a travel assignment at a well-equipped cancer institute. The unit treats approximately 45-55 patients per day using advanced radiation therapy technology.
Unit Details
- Patient Load: ~45-55 patients/day on 2 linear accelerators
- Staffing:
- 2 radiation therapists per machine
- Support staff includes unit secretaries, RNs, dosimetrists, physicists, dietitian, social worker, and director
- Equipment:
- 2 TrueBeam linear accelerators (latest installed 1 month ago)
- GE CT Simulator
- Elekta HDR
- Documentation System: ARIA
- Scheduling: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM to ~4:00-4:30 PM
- Floating Policy: Not applicable
- Patient Experience: Press Ganey scores around 95%
- Accreditations:
- ACR accredited for radiation oncology
- Commission on Cancer accredited
- NAPBC accredited
Required Skills & Experience
- Years of Experience: Minimum 3 years of TrueBeam experience (highest required specialty experience is 3 years)
- Certifications:
- ARRT (T) Certification
- BLS
- Radiation Therapist License
- AART certification required
- Technical Skills:
- TrueBeam operation
- Align RT (Vision RT) surface guidance
- ARIA documentation system
- Advanced Procedures:
- DIBH (Deep Inspiration Breath Hold)
- VMAT (Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy)
- SBRT (Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy)
- Surface Guidance techniques

- Dress code: Caribbean blue scrubs required
