Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Opportunity

Location: Seattle, Washington
Facility: Providence Swedish Cherry Hill Campus


Job Details

Job Description

  • Assist primarily in CT and MRI departments
  • Support cardiac procedures, MRgFUS, and sedation
  • Experience in Interventional Radiology (IR) and/or Cath Lab is helpful
  • Average daily census:
    • 4 Coronary CT Angiograms (CCTA)
    • 5 MR procedures
  • Visits per day: 10
  • Rooms: 2
  • Staffing ratio: 1:1

Unit & Procedure Details

  • Coronary CTA
  • MRgFUS (Magnetic Resonance Guided Focused Ultrasound)
  • Pacemaker Programming (MRI compatible)
  • Sedation Monitoring
  • IV Support
  • Contrast Allergy Monitoring

Equipment

  • Pacemaker Interrogation

Required Certifications

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)

Documentation System

  • EPIC (required)

Licensing & Eligibility

  • Active compact nursing license honored at all Swedish facilities
  • Perm candidates from other Providence facilities (non-Swedish) eligible if separated for at least 3 months

Compliance & Requirements

Background Checks & Verifications

  • Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
  • Education verification required for all candidates
  • State-specific searches and registry checks as applicable (e.g., Washington WATCH, OBRA Registry for CNAs)
  • NURSYS verification for RNs
  • Drug screening: 10-panel within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
  • References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in relevant specialty within last 3 years

Health & Immunizations

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
  • Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent) required for travel starts after 2/5/2024
  • Immunizations/vaccinations required or declination forms accepted for:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
    • TB test (IGRA/TSPOT, QGold, or 2 PPDs within 12 months)
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B (vaccination series or signed declination)
    • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
    • Seasonal Flu vaccine (required during flu season, declination accepted)
    • COVID-19 vaccine or declination (required if onsite)
  • Respiratory safety clearance required for travel starts after 2/5/2024

Skills & Competencies

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
  • Unit-specific skills checklist (updated annually)
  • Color blindness testing if required by unit
  • Specialty competency exams (e.g., Fetal Heart Rate Monitoring for L&D RNs)

Facility & Regional Training Requirements

  • Completion of Providence WorkRamp modules prior to start, including:
    • Core modules by profession and region
    • Specialty-specific modules for ER, L&D, leadership roles
    • Annual regulatory requirements
  • Epic training modules required and must be completed within orientation period

Additional Notes

  • Float policy acknowledgment required; may be asked to float to other Providence facilities nearby
  • Documentation such as photo for badge, employment application (last 5 years), and skills checklists must be submitted and up to date
  • Candidates with international education must provide transcripts/diplomas and may need additional education verification or CGFNS report

This position offers a specialized nursing role supporting advanced cardiac and MRI procedures in a well-equipped facility with a focus on patient safety and compliance.
