Radiology / Cardiology - Xray Tech Travel/Contract Position

Location: Rochester, New York
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Specialty: Xray Tech
• Shift: Monday - Friday, 5x8 hour shifts with variable start time between 6:00 AM - 8:00 AM
• Weekend Coverage: As needed
• On Call: 3 week night calls per month (average 3 times)
• Flex Agency: Required 3 times during the contract
• Locals: Must live more than 75 miles from the facility
• First Time Travelers: Accepted

Required Certifications

• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA Provider/Instructor/RQI acceptable
• ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM, NIH Stroke Certification as required by unit description
• Tech Certification Verification (National) within 30 days of start
• State License Primary Source Verification within 30 days of start
• NURSYS Verification (for RN, LPN/LVN, AP) within 30 days of start
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement

Experience Requirements

• Specialty years of experience: Not explicitly stated; assume minimum experience consistent with ARRT certification and job responsibilities.
• Prior travel experience: Not required (first time travelers accepted).

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Government Issued Photo ID required
• 7-year Criminal Background Check within 3 months of start (including SSN Trace, National Criminal, Sex Offender, Education Verification)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 3 months of start and run monthly
• Foreign Equivalency Education Evaluation if applicable
• Education Verification from primary source required (no hard copies)
• Employment Application and Work History Verification required
• References: 2 references within 3 years (Aya candidates only)
• Skills Checklist: Required annually

Health and Immunization Requirements

Candidates must complete all health-related requirements and lab work within 5 days of signing the contract:

• Physical Exam (within 1 year, updated annually)
• Fit Mask test (within 1 year, updated annually)
• Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray (within 1 year)
• TB Questionnaire (in lieu of annual TB test renewal)
• Immunizations or positive titers for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (Surface AB positive titer, completed series or declination)
  • Varicella
• Drug Testing within 30 days of start (includes amphetamines, cocaine, fentanyl, heroin, opiates, etc.)
• Flu Seasonal Vaccination or signed declination (required during flu season)
• Eye Exam (Snellen, within 1 year)
• COVID vaccination copy preferred but not required

Additional Competency Requirements

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as required by profession
• Color Blind Testing (required once)
• Competency Exam as required by specialty/profession

State-Specific Requirements (New York)

• NYS Nurse Aide Registry (within 3 months of start for certain units)
• NYS Criminal Background Check Fingerprint Results (for Mental Health, Behavioral Health, Home Health Aide, LTC units as applicable)
• NYS Disciplinary Action Search Results (for certain units)
• NYS Sex Offender Registry Search (within 30 days of start)
• NYS Medicaid Exclusion List check (within 3 months of start and monthly thereafter)

This position requires a licensed Xray Tech with ARRT and BLS certifications, flexible availability including some weekend and night call coverage, and compliance with extensive background, health, and immunization requirements. First-time travel healthcare workers are welcome to apply.
