Job Description
- Position: US Tech / MFM Ultrasound Tech
- Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM (5 days x 8 hours)
- Experience: Minimum 2 years required
- Certifications Required:
- ARDMS OB/GYN
- NT Nuchal Translucency certification (must have at start)
- Skills Required:
- Nuchal Translucency Screen
- Adult Ultrasound
- High Risk OB
- Maternal Fetal Medicine
- Obstetrics
- Preferred Skills:
- General Ultrasound skills
- Amniocentesis
- GE Anatomy scans
- Travelers: First-time travelers will be considered if experienced with required scans
- Float Requirement: None
- Unit Details:
- High volume Perinatal Center
- Focus on OB patients, many high-risk or with fetal abnormalities

Required Certifications & Documents
- ARDMS OB/GYN and NT Nuchal Translucency certification (in hand at start)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC certified
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - review as applicable
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) - C-EFM required for L&D candidates; AWHONN accepted temporarily if C-EFM not yet completed
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - as required by unit
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) - as required by unit
- State License verification prior to start
- Tech Certification verification (national) as applicable
- Annual Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
Background & Compliance Requirements
- Criminal Background Check within 90 days of start (covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks prior to start and monthly thereafter
- Education Verification (highest degree required by position)
- Drug Screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana) and updated annually
- I9 and E-Verify attestation required upon hire
- Physical Exam: Annual, confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
- Immunizations and Health Documentation:
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframe
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) documentation or titers
- Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
- Varicella documentation or titer
- Seasonal Flu Vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
Competency Exams & Testing
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (within 3 years, 80%+ score)
- Color Blind Testing (online or in-person)
- Competency Exam (within 3 years, 80%+ score)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (for RNs in specified units)
Additional Requirements
- Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education, employment, licenses, and contact information
- Skills Checklist updated annually
- Clear photo for badge (face centered, no glare, solid background)
- Completion of facility-specific modules prior to start
