Job Opportunity: Surgery Technician (Contract)

Location: Lancaster, Ohio
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Specialty

• Nursing (Surgery Technician)
• Must have Open Heart experience
• Required years of experience: 3+ years OR previous OR experience preferred (default to 3 years)
• Prior travel experience required

Work Schedule

• Monday to Friday, 36-40 hours per week
• Call 2-3 times per week
• Weekend call every 2nd or 3rd weekend

Job Summary

• Assist in the operating room under supervision of surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses
• Provide care during surgical procedures in ambulatory or hospital settings
• Collaborate with team members to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Maintain patient safety, dignity, and privacy according to HIPAA guidelines
• Participate in physician-led time-outs and emergency procedures (BLS)
• Prepare operating rooms and surgical equipment
• Assist with patient transfer and positioning for surgery
• Participate in briefing/debriefing and hand-off communication

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Graduate of an accredited surgical technician program
• CPR certification required
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) required
• Strong clinical skills in ambulatory and inpatient care
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and make independent decisions

Physical Demands

• Heavy work: exerting 50 to 100 pounds occasionally, 25 to 50 pounds frequently, 10 to 20 pounds constantly
