Description

Registered Nurse (OR RN) - Travel/Contract

Location: San Angelo, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Hybrid schedule rotating between:
    • 06:30 AM - 05:00 PM
    • 10:30 AM - 09:00 PM
  • Operating Room RN needed
  • Preferred experience: 5 years (may consider less with strong specialty experience)
  • Specialties: General, Neuro, Ortho, Trauma, Robotics
  • Fast-paced OR environment
  • Call and holiday coverage required

Required Certifications

  • ACLS (AHA or ARC accepted)
  • BLS (AHA or ARC accepted)
  • PALS (AHA or ARC accepted; ICU RNs have 1 year to obtain for longer assignments)
  • NRP (as applicable)
  • CHEMO (as applicable)
  • TNCC (required for ER; ICU RNs have 1 year to obtain for longer assignments)
  • EFM (as applicable)
  • NIH Stroke Certification (required for ICU and PCU)
  • State License Verification (within 30 days of start)
  • NURSYS Verification (within 30 days of start)
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (annual update)
  • Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) during orientation
  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
  • Competency Exam (as applicable)
  • Other certifications as applicable per job description

Required Background Checks & Verifications

  • 7-year Background Check within 30 days of start (includes statewide, counties, federal, national, education verification, international search if applicable)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
  • HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
  • Education Verification
  • Drug Testing within 30 days (includes multiple substances)
  • Social Security Card verification
  • Legal name must match on all documentation (license, ID, social security, certifications)

Required Health Documents

  • Physical Exam within 1 year of start (must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing)
  • Fit Mask Test within 6 months prior to start (annual updates required)
  • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 1 year (or annual TB Questionnaire for positive responders)
  • Immunizations or positive titers for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (positive titer or series with declination if applicable)
    • Varicella
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years
  • Flu Seasonal Vaccination or facility-specific declination during flu season (10/31-3/31)
  • COVID initial series (boosters not required)

Facility Specific Requirements

  • Clear, passport-style photo for badge
  • Completion of various facility forms prior to start, including:
    • Non-Employee Information Form
    • Vaccine Exemption Form (if applicable)
    • Applicant Health Record Form
    • Code of Conduct and Compliance Form
    • Compact-Temporary License Declaration of Residency Form
    • Confidentiality Statement Form
    • Information System Security Agreement Form
    • Non-Employee Orientation Update Form
    • Traveler Orientation

Additional Requirements

  • 2 professional references within 3 years of start
  • Copy of resume/application required
  • Skills checklist updated annually

This position requires a highly skilled OR RN comfortable with a fast-paced environment and flexible scheduling, including call and holiday coverage. Compliance with all certifications, background checks, health requirements, and facility-specific documentation is mandatory.
