Job Opportunity: Medical Laboratory Technician

Location: Aspen, Colorado
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Perform routine and special laboratory assays of patient specimens across all sections of Clinical Laboratory Medicine.
• Conduct microscopic, chemical, hematological, immunologic, or bacteriologic assays according to established standards.
• Calibrate and operate all instruments and equipment following preventive maintenance schedules.
• Work environment includes high altitude (approximately 8,000 feet elevation); must be healthy enough to safely function in a low oxygen environment.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology.
• Certification: American Society for Clinical Pathology - Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT).
• Successful completion of a supervised one-year clinical internship.
• Preferred: Experience with EPIC system.
• Preferred: Bilingual in Spanish.

• Housing is the responsibility of the traveler and is notably expensive, especially during winter.
• Consider housing options in nearby towns such as Basalt, Carbondale, and Glenwood Springs.
• Typical rent for a 1-bedroom apartment in Basalt is around $3,500/month. Travelers with a lower housing budget may not be suitable for this assignment.
• No return to office (RTO) requests are formally approved, but accommodations will be attempted.
