Travel RN Opportunity - Nashville, Tennessee

Position Details

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Employment Type: Travel

  • Unit: 9 Tower Surgical, Main Tower
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

  • Number of Beds: 36
  • Number of Staff: 40 RNs total (8 bedside RNs per shift)
  • Shift Staffing:
    • Day Shift: 8 RNs, 1 Charge RN, 1 Unit Secretary, 1 Manager, 1 CNC
    • Night Shift: 8 RNs
  • Patient Ratios: 1:5
  • Equipment: Bariatric fitted ADLs, Wound Vacs, Drains, Lifts
  • EMR System: Meditech

Required Skills & Experience

  • Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty (RN)
  • Required Certifications: BLS
  • Licenses: Registered Nurse License
  • Must Have Skills:
    • Time Management and Efficiency (fast-paced unit with short length of stay)
    • Teamwork
  • Preferred Skills:
    • Background in post-op surgical areas such as vascular, bariatric, urology, general surgery, colorectal

Typical Procedures Performed

  • Maintenance of post-op surgical procedure sites
  • Wound care including packing, dressing changes, wound vac maintenance
  • Foley catheter care and continuous bladder irrigation
  • Ostomy appliance changes and maintenance
  • Nasogastric tube insertion and suction
  • Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN)
  • Blood administration
  • Central line care and dressing changes
  • Bedside shift report
