Description

Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology - Travel/Contract

Location: Paramus, New Jersey
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Employment Type: Travel/Contract


Job Requirements

  • Certifications & Licenses:

    • ARRT (R) certification required and must be in hand
    • NJ State Radiography License (can submit without initially; 1-2 weeks to obtain)
    • BLS and ACLS certifications must have by start date (ACLS: AHA only)
    • Must have both COVID vaccines and booster; no medical or religious exemptions allowed
  • Experience:

    • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
    • Required years of experience: Not explicitly stated; default to standard expectations for specialty (recommend verifying with recruiter)
    • No prior travel experience explicitly required
  • Shift Details:

    • Call one night per week from 7:00 PM to 6:30 AM
    • One weekend every 4 weeks from Friday 7:00 PM to Monday 6:30 AM
    • Must reside or temporarily move within 30 minutes of the facility to take call
    • Option for 4x10 hour shifts (9:00 AM - 7:30 PM) or 5x8 hour shifts (11:00 AM - 7:30 PM)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Background Checks:

    • 7-year background check within 6 months of start
    • Includes county, statewide, national sex offender, national criminal, OIG sanction, SAM.gov searches
    • Must be completed prior to start; annual background check required for direct candidates
  • Health & Immunizations:

    • Physical exam within 72 hours of contract signing, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NP
    • Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent) within 72 hours of contract signing; annual expiration required
    • Negative 9-panel drug test within 72 hours of contract signing (no rapid tests)
    • Immunizations required within 72 hours of contract signing:
      • COVID-19 vaccine series with booster (no declinations)
      • Flu vaccine (mandatory; no religious or medical declinations)
      • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) proof of 2 vaccinations or positive titer
      • Varicella proof of 2 vaccinations or positive titer
      • Hepatitis B surface antibody titer or declination
      • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap preferred (declinations accepted)
      • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 6 months
  • Education & Verification:

    • Education verification of highest degree required; diploma can be used as placeholder if verification pending
    • Employment verification for last 7 years required; no gaps over 30 days without explanation
    • Two references required: one from supervisor/manager within last 12 months, second within last 3 years
  • Competency Exams:

    • Pass/fail testing onsite for telemetry and medication exams (for RNs)
    • Core competency exams (Parts I, II, III) required annually with minimum 80% passing score
    • Medication, Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exams required annually with 80% passing score
    • Color blindness test (Ishihara) within 1 year of assignment start
  • Additional Requirements:

    • Orientation safety manual acknowledgement required
    • Acknowledgement of pass/fail testing required for all RN specialties
    • Must complete facility-specific self-learning modules and post-tests prior to start

Important Notes

  • Must be able to live within 30 minutes of the facility to take call shifts.
  • Strict vaccine requirements: COVID vaccines and booster are mandatory with no exemptions.
  • Background checks and health documents are time-sensitive and must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing.
  • Pass/fail competency exams are required and failure will result in contract cancellation.
  • This is a travel/contract position with a 13-week duration.

This position is ideal for Radiology/Cardiology professionals who meet the certification and licensing requirements, are comfortable with call shifts, and can comply with strict health and background screening protocols.
