Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist (Travel/Contract)

Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Specialty: Therapy/Rehabilitation
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Work Hours: 40 hours per week, dayshift
  • Shift Pattern: Alternating 8-hour shifts (07:00-15:30 or 10:30-19:00)
  • Setting: Acute Care preferred
  • Patient Diagnoses: Orthopedics, transplant, medical-surgical, neurology, ICU
  • Experience Required: Minimum 1 year in specialty
  • First Timers: Accepted
  • Certifications Required:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • State licensure
  • Skills Required: Cardiopulmonary, Geriatrics, Neurology, Oncology, Orthopedics
  • Vaccination: Flu vaccine required
  • Scrub Color: Not specified

Requirements & Compliance

  • Background Checks:
    • Criminal background check within 90 days including all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
    • Federal, state, and county searches as applicable
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks prior to start and monthly thereafter
  • Health Documents:
    • Annual physical exam confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
    • Immunizations/documentation for Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
    • Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred
    • Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana), updated annually
    • Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required for flu season (Sept-Mar)
  • Licenses & Certifications:
    • State license verification required prior to start
    • BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
  • References: Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
  • Work History: Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps; minimum 2 years employment verified, including at least 1 travel assignment or 1 month per diem for travel contracts
  • Competency Exams: Medication test/pharmacology competency and other relevant competency exams as required

Additional Notes

  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
  • Facility requires completion of specific modules and attestations prior to start.
  • Valid driver's license required if driving is an essential job function.
  • Annual acknowledgment of orientation safety manual required.
