Travel CST/ORT Surgical Tech Opportunity

Location: Tomball, Texas

Unit Information

• Facility Type: Hospital with 10 OR Suites and 1 Cysto suite
• Staffing:

  • 8 Full-Time Surgical Techs, 2 PRN Techs
  • 10 OR Nurses, 2 PRN OR Nurses
• Shifts:

  • Day Shift: 1 Charge, 7-8 techs, 8 RNs, 3 CNAs (staffed until 5pm)
  • Night Shift: On-call staff only after 7pm
• Patient Ratios:

  • General cases: 1 Surgical Tech to 1 RN
  • Cardiovascular (CV) cases: 2 Surgical Techs to 2 RNs
• EMR System: MediTech

Required Skills & Experience

• Specialty: CST/ORT (Certified Surgical Technician / Operating Room Tech)
• Years of Experience: Minimum 1 year in specialty
• Certifications Required:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • Certified Surgical Technician (CST) Certification
• Must-Have Skills:

  • Ability to scrub Cardiovascular (CV) surgery procedures
  • Ability to scrub General surgery procedures and other cases
• Preferred Skills:

  • CV scrub skills
  • Orthopedic scrub skills
  • Robotic surgery scrub skills

Typical Procedures

• Cardiovascular: CABG, Mitral Valve replacements, Femoral Bypass, Thrombectomy
• Orthopedic, Neuro/Spine, General (Robotics), Gynecology (Robotics), Urology, ENT, Podiatry

Work Environment & Expectations

• Personality Fit: Positive attitude and team-oriented
• Dress Code: Blue scrubs provided by facility (daily change required)
• Floating: Possible rare float to nearby ASC (Ambulatory Surgery Center)
• On-Call & Weekend Coverage:

  • May be asked to provide on-call coverage 1-2 nights per week and 1 weekend per month
  • Weekend team onsite for 12 hours/day; additional emergency coverage may be needed

Contract Length

• 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
