Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Technician
Location: Newton, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic Nuclear Medicine/PET CT procedures using Radionuclides and Radiopharmaceuticals under physician or senior technologist supervision.
- Operate imaging equipment to produce diagnostic images of specific body parts.
- Follow all applicable Federal, State, Local, and Hospital policies and regulations.
Required Skills & Experience
- Trained in venipuncture.
- Familiarity with EPIC, Siemens PET/CT, GE General Nuclear Medicine software, and Spectrum Dynamics DSPECT for Nuclear Cardiology.

- N95 Fit Test within 365 days of start date, updated annually (no religious exemptions).
- MGB Medication Exam with 80% passing score within 365 days.
- Completion of MGB Nuclear Medicine Self-Study Orientation & Attestation.
- Documentation of MMR vaccination or immunity.
- Influenza vaccine required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30), no exemptions.
- TB test documentation within 3 months of start date, updated if >6 month break.
- Physician health statement within 365 days of start date, updated if >6 month break.
- Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start date, updated if >6 month break.
- Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start date, updated if >6 month break.
- Submission of resume including past 7 years of work experience.
- Two recent references (minimum one supervisor or above).
- Skills checklist required for submission.
- Confirmation of assignment form upon acceptance and for extensions.
- Education verification of highest level achieved.
- Social Security Number trace with criminal check.
- National sex offender registry check within 30 days of start, updated annually.
- Exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid) within 30 days of start and annually.
Additional Preferred/Optional Requirements
- Hepatitis B vaccination or immunity preferred.
- Tdap vaccination within 10 years preferred.
- Positive PPD requires negative chest x-ray documentation.
- TB symptom survey if positive PPD, updated annually.
