Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Technician

Location: Newton, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)

Job Description

• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic Nuclear Medicine/PET CT procedures using Radionuclides and Radiopharmaceuticals under physician or senior technologist supervision.
• Operate imaging equipment to produce diagnostic images of specific body parts.
• Follow all applicable Federal, State, Local, and Hospital policies and regulations.

Required Skills & Experience

• Trained in venipuncture.
• Familiarity with EPIC, Siemens PET/CT, GE General Nuclear Medicine software, and Spectrum Dynamics DSPECT for Nuclear Cardiology.

Licensure & Certifications (Required)

• Licensed by the State of Massachusetts Radiation Control Board.

• CPR Certified (BLS).

Onboarding & Credential Requirements

• BLS certification (AHA, Red Cross, CHSF, or Military accepted; AHA preferred).
• Primary source verification of professional license/certification (no conditional licenses accepted).
• N95 Fit Test within 365 days of start date, updated annually (no religious exemptions).
• MGB Medication Exam with 80% passing score within 365 days.
• Completion of MGB Nuclear Medicine Self-Study Orientation & Attestation.
• Documentation of MMR vaccination or immunity.
• Influenza vaccine required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30), no exemptions.
• TB test documentation within 3 months of start date, updated if >6 month break.
• Physician health statement within 365 days of start date, updated if >6 month break.
• Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start date, updated if >6 month break.
• Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start date, updated if >6 month break.
• Submission of resume including past 7 years of work experience.
• Two recent references (minimum one supervisor or above).
• Skills checklist required for submission.
• Confirmation of assignment form upon acceptance and for extensions.
• Education verification of highest level achieved.
• Social Security Number trace with criminal check.
• National sex offender registry check within 30 days of start, updated annually.
• Exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid) within 30 days of start and annually.

Additional Preferred/Optional Requirements

• Hepatitis B vaccination or immunity preferred.
• Tdap vaccination within 10 years preferred.
• Positive PPD requires negative chest x-ray documentation.
• TB symptom survey if positive PPD, updated annually.

Prior Travel Experience
