Radiology / Cardiology Travel/Contract Job
Location: Winston Salem, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Overview
- Shift: First shift with call, staggered start between 7:00 AM and 8:30 AM, 8 hours/day, Monday-Friday
- Call Requirement: Weekends and evenings/nights on call rotation (primary and backup)
- Float Requirement: None
- Weekend Requirement: On call rotation during weekends and evenings/nights
- Daily Case Load: 13-17 cases
- Patient Age Group: Majority adults and geriatrics, some adolescents
- Special Procedures: Neuro (including stroke intervention) and body procedures
- Equipment: Siemens and Phillips x-ray equipment experience required; Acuson preferred
- Orientation: Hospital orientation during week one; full availability required for classes
Required Skills & Experience
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology with Neuro scrub experience
- Years of Experience: Minimum 1 year in specialty (scrub experience on Neuro required)
- Traveler Experience: Prior travel experience required; no first-time travelers accepted
- Skills:
- Vascular studies/procedures
- Neuro experience including stroke and body work
- Inpatient hospital experience
- PACS and contrast use
- Interventional Radiology (IR) procedures including stents, angioplasty, angiograms, nephrograms, kyphoplasty, peripherals, biopsies, drainages, upper/lower extremity, abdominal/pelvic, genitourinary, vascular studies, venous access, neurological studies
- Equipment Experience: Siemens and Phillips x-ray equipment required
- Certifications: BLS and ARRT required
Preferred Skills & Certifications
- ARRT Advanced Certification preferred
- Experience with EPIC and Visage systems preferred
- Experience in outpatient, OR, ER, Level I trauma, community hospital, and ablations
Compliance & Requirements
- Background Checks: Criminal, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, education verification, state-specific searches (NC Healthcare Personnel Registry and Division of Medical Assistance) within 90 days of start
- Health Documents:
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (updated annually if past positive TB)
- Fit mask testing (N95 or PAPR training) required
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray as applicable
- Immunizations/titers required for Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (facility-specific declination form if titer negative)
- Drug testing within 30 days of start (10-panel screen)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
- Certifications: BLS and ARRT mandatory; ACLS, PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, EFM, CPI, NIH Stroke Certification as applicable
- Competency Exams: Medication test/pharmacology, color blind testing, dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (with remediation process if failed)
- Radiation Badge: Required for Radiology and Interventional Radiology techs and related specialties
- Facility Specific Documents: Confidentiality agreement, hospital policies acknowledgment, job description acknowledgment, dress code compliance, and orientation modules completion required
Additional Notes
- Scrubs are provided
- RTO (Return to Office) after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite; call-offs or additional RTO may lead to cancellation
- Start date is subject to change based on class and trainer availability; travelers must be fully available with no other commitments during orientation week
- Interview with hiring manager required prior to offer
This position is ideal for experienced Radiology/Cardiology professionals with prior travel experience, strong neuro scrub skills, and proficiency in interventional radiology procedures using Siemens and Phillips equipment.
