Description
Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule & Environment
- Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts (6:30 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Rotating weekends and holidays required
- Float between 3 campuses within the health system
- Call required on Sunday nights only (rotation)
Patient Population & Unit Description
- Patients with end-stage renal disease, acute kidney injury, metabolic imbalances, dialysis access problems, or drug overdoses requiring hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis
- Acutely ill patients with medical-surgical or critical care diagnoses
- Apheresis patients with neurologic, renal, or hematologic/oncologic diseases
- Hemodialysis department operates 24/7 with 9 bays and 1 isolation room for Hep B patients
- Telemetry monitoring and central cardiac monitoring station available
- Treatments include hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and apheresis
- Average treatment length: 4-5 hours
- ICU treatments performed bedside for hemodynamically unstable patients
Required Experience

- Foreign equivalency evaluation if education obtained outside the U.S.
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 40 days of start
- Immunizations and health documents including:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine proof
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 6 months
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B titer or declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption (required by 10/20)
- Fit mask test completed within current calendar year and updated annually
- Physical exam (if applicable)
- References: 2 supervisory references required from recent assignments
- Employment application/resume with 7-year work history
- Work history verification for last 5 years
Additional Job Requirements
- Flexible with scheduling and strict adherence to zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
- Must complete all compliance documentation by deadline (12 Noon EST Wednesday prior to start)
- Floating between campuses and call responsibilities as described
- Pass/fail testing acknowledgment required for EPIC or Dysrhythmia/EKG testing
- Badge photo must meet strict facility requirements (no selfies, solid color background, business casual/uniform attire)
