LVN / LPN Travel/Contract Job in Manchester, New Hampshire
Position Details
- Specialty: LVN / LPN
- Location: Manchester, New Hampshire
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 40 hours per week, Days 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
- Weekend Requirement: Weekends may be required as needed
- Work Setting: Home Care (VNA - Visiting Nurse Association)
- Call/Float: No call or float required
- Transportation: Must own a vehicle to provide care in patients' homes
Experience Requirements
- Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years (1-2 years stated, but default to higher)
- Preferred Experience: Home health experience preferred; med surge, nursing home, or facility experience accepted
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required (1st time travelers accepted)
Skills & Competencies
- Charting System: Epic charting experience required
- Clinical Skills:
- Wound care
- Ostomy care
- Indwelling catheters
- Care for surgical patients
- Management of diagnoses including CVA, Cancer, edema, Sepsis, COPD, CHF
- Special Equipment: CoaguChek, phlebotomy skills, Aspira drains
- Skills Checklist: Will be performed during onboarding
Patient Population

- Medical and surgical diagnoses
Certifications & Licenses Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- New Hampshire State License
- Other certifications may be required or preferred depending on unit (e.g., ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI) — verify during qualification
Background & Compliance Requirements
- Comprehensive background check within 30 days of start including:
- Social Security Verification
- National Sex Offender Registry Search
- National Criminal Search
- FACIS L3
- Education Verification
- Criminal county/state searches (excluding NH counties; NH State Police Search required)
- Motor Vehicle Background Check (for driving to patient homes)
- Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within 14 days prior to start
- Two current professional references within last 3 years (one from supervisor)
- Employment application and skills checklist required
- SSA release and state-specific releases (NH Statewide Release required)
- BEAS State Registry Results required for NH placements
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year prior to start
- Annual fit mask test (N95 or equivalent)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within last 10 years (medical/religious exemptions allowed with documentation)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (2-step PPD, Qgold, or Tspot)
- TB Questionnaire required per CDC guidelines
- Immunity or vaccination documentation for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (declinations accepted with waiver)
- Varicella (history of disease NOT accepted)
- Seasonal flu vaccination required during October 31 - April 1 period (medical/religious exemptions allowed with documentation)
- Respiratory safety clearance questionnaire required prior to start
Additional Notes
- Travelers who have ever been employed by the associated health system are not eligible
- Proof of auto insurance required for home health care providers
- Pass/fail testing (EKG/Dysrhythmia) may be required depending on unit
- Various facility-specific waivers and attestations may be required for exemptions or compliance
This position is ideal for LVN/LPNs with home health or related experience who are comfortable providing in-home care, have reliable transportation, and meet the comprehensive compliance and immunization requirements.
