Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract
Location: Florence, South Carolina
Specialty: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics (RRT)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (Days: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- On-call: No
- Floating: Required within scope to all hospital areas including labor and delivery
- Floating to Sister Facilities: No
- Local Radius: 60 miles
- Locals Accepted: No
- Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
- Block Schedule Accommodation: No
Experience & Licensure Requirements
- Years of Experience Required: Minimum 2 years (must have recent critical care experience)
- First-time Travelers: Not accepted
- License Required: South Carolina Respiratory Care Provider (SC RCP) license must be active at start
- Certifications Required:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NBRC (RRT credential)
- All certifications must be current and in hand at time of start
- Radiation Badge: Not required for this position

- Hurricane Season Notice: Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June - November), with peak activity in August and September. New or extension assignments during this time should be considered carefully.
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Background Checks:
- Annual background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Includes SSN trace, statewide, national criminal, sex offender registry, FACIS 3, and international searches
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
- Education Verification: Not required for this facility
- References: Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
- Performance Evaluation: Must be dated within 12 months of start
- Work History Verification: Not required for this facility
- Skills Checklist: Must be updated annually
- Physical Exam: Initial and updated annually, attesting ability to meet physical demands
- Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start, no instant tests accepted
- Immunizations & Health Requirements:
- Tdap within 10 years or declination form
- Negative TB test (2-step PPD or Quantiferon Gold within 90 days) or chest X-ray if positive
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters if low titer
- Hepatitis B: Titer, vaccine series, or declination
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters if low titer
- Flu Vaccine: Required during flu season (Aug 1 - Apr 30); medical/religious exemptions accepted but no declinations
- COVID Vaccines: Not required but highly preferred; declination form required if not vaccinated
- Respirator Clearance: Annual medical clearance required for respirator use via RespSafety questionnaire
- Photo for Badge: Passport-style photo required
Certifications Notes
- Certifications must be AHA or ARC approved where applicable
- No certifications expiring within 30 days of start will be accepted
- Chemo certification not required for this location
- IV Therapy certification required only for select LPNs if applicable
Orientation & Facility Specifics
- Completion of orientation modules (approx. 4 hours) required prior to start
- Must upload COVID and flu vaccination documentation into facility system
- Various facility-specific acknowledgments and agreements must be signed prior to start (e.g., Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreements)
