Job Description

• Role: Flex RN floating between various medical and surgical units
• Units: Medical Unit, Laulima Unit (Surgical Acute), Cardiovascular Unit (rarely)
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 to 07:15)
• Hours: Scheduled 36 hours per week after orientation; no guaranteed hours
• Orientation: Provided for each unit
• Equipment Used: Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, chest tubes

Requirements

• Licensure: Must have an active Hawaii nursing license by the start of assignment
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS required; PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC preferred
• Experience: 2 to 10 years nursing experience (use 10 years as the required minimum)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not specified as required

Unit Details

• Bed Counts:

  • Medical Unit: 77 beds
  • Laulima Unit: 18 beds
  • Cardiovascular Unit: 15 beds

• Nurse-to-Patient Ratios:

  • Medical Unit: 1:6 (days/evenings), 1:8 (nights)
  • Laulima Unit: 1:6
  • Cardiovascular Unit: 1:4
  • Ratios may vary due to unexpected leaves

Additional Information

• Must arrive the Thursday before the start date for an employee health appointment on Friday
• Professional nursing attire (clean scrubs) required
• Medical and religious exemption requests for immunity will not be accepted without documented proof
