Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Open to 1st time travelers (no prior travel experience required)
  • Option of 36 or 48 hour shifts
  • BLS certification required

Required Certifications (as applicable)

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
  • CHEMO (Chemotherapy)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB)
  • NIH Stroke Certification (expires annually)
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)

Required Competencies

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (minimum 80% score or meet Angoff score)
  • Color Blind Testing (online acceptable)
  • Competency Exam (minimum 80% or meet Angoff score)
  • Core Parts I, II, III (for subcontractors; annual completion required)

Licensure & Verification

  • Primary source online verification of state license required
  • NURSYS verification required for RN, LPN/LVN, AP
  • Education verification required (transcript/diploma accepted as placeholder if needed)

Background & Compliance Requirements

  • 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required upon hire
  • Fingerprinting required onsite during orientation (New Mexico placements only)
  • Physical exam within 12 months of start
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
  • Complete employment application/resume
  • 7-year work history verification required

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually (onsite fit test available)
  • Adult Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
  • Negative TB test (2-step PPD, QGOLD, or TSPOT) within 1 year
  • TB questionnaire for positive TB results, renewed annually
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; boosters if negative/equivocal
  • Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination accepted
  • Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented history required; boosters if negative/equivocal
  • Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
  • COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required (declinations not accepted)

Additional Requirements

  • Clear headshot photo for badge
  • Driver’s license or state ID required
  • Completion of unit-specific skills checklist annually
  • Orientation safety manual acknowledgement and HIPAA compliance
  • Behavioral Health RNs must have APNA eLearning Center certification for Conducting the One-Hour Face-to-Face Assessment for Persons in Restraint or Seclusion prior to start

This position is suitable for nurses with at least 1 year of experience in rehabilitation nursing, including those new to travel nursing. All required certifications and health documentation must be current and verifiable prior to start.
