Description

Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Garfield Heights, Ohio
Facility: Cleveland Clinic Marymount Hospital


Job Details

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse
  • Employment Type: Travel/Contract
  • Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7pm-7am)
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks

Experience & Licensing Requirements

  • Minimum 18 months recent permanent Med/Surg Telemetry experience prior to travel
  • Must hold a permanent Ohio nursing license or a compact state license in hand
  • AHA BLS & ACLS certification required
  • Must be willing to obtain NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification prior to start
  • One recent reference required from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in the specialty (Charge RN references accepted)

Orientation & Testing

  • ECG rhythm recognition test and SafeMedicate medication competency test will be completed during orientation; passing scores required
  • Qualivis – Lotus system used for submitting hours worked

Required Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA Instructor or Provider, RQI acceptable
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): AHA Instructor or Provider, RQI acceptable
  • NIH Stroke Certification: AHA, Apex, AACME, or Bluecloud only (Healthstream certs not accepted)
  • Other certifications may be required depending on specialty and unit

Background & Compliance Checks

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID) required and must be carried on assignment
  • Background check required prior to start, including FCRA-compliant 7-year search and education verification
  • Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
  • FBI and BCI fingerprinting required within 12 months of start, updated annually
  • Fingerprinting must be completed within 48 hours of signed contract; facility will also conduct fingerprinting onsite
  • Candidates may start with fingerprint results pending if fingerprinting is completed prior to start

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, including Snellen eye exam (required for candidates signing 4/11/2025 or later)
  • Fit mask test (N95) within 12 months of start, updated annually
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine every 10 years (religious/medical exemptions reviewed case-by-case)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccinations or positive titers required
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or titer required
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer required
  • Standard 10-panel drug screen within 12 months, updated annually
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 31 - Mar 31)

Documentation & Onboarding

  • Application must include 3 years prior work history with at least 2 years clinical practice in acute care and similar specialty
  • Two references required from employment within one year of start, from management or supervisory roles
  • Annual skills checklist and unit-specific competency exams required
  • Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome)
  • Pass/fail ECG and medication testing during orientation (retake available after 1 week if needed)
  • Annual acknowledgment of orientation safety manual and pass/fail testing required

Additional Notes

  • Candidates with a gap of less than 6 months between Cleveland Clinic contracts may have some requirements waived (e.g., pass/fail testing, module completion)
  • Candidates must use their legal name in onboarding systems
  • Facility accommodates latex allergies with notification
  • PAPRs (powered air-purifying respirators) may be approved on a case-by-case basis for mask fit failures due to religious or medical exemptions

This position requires strict adherence to all listed requirements and certifications. No exceptions will be made.
