Position Overview

• Specialty: Certified Surgical Technician (CST) in Operating Room Team (ORT)
• Facility Type: Hospital CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room) unit
• Unit Details:

  • Beds: 2
  • Staff: 8 (4 CVOR nurses, 4 CVOR CSTs on day shift)
  • Shifts: Evening and night shifts are call only
  • Patient Ratios: 2 nurses and 2 techs per patient
  • Equipment: Cardiovascular OR equipment
  • EMR System: Meditech

Required Qualifications

• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • Certified Surgical Technician (CST) Certification
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in CST specialty (CVOR experience required)
• Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required

Preferred Skills

• Thoracic and vascular surgical experience
• General surgery experience

Typical Procedures Performed

• CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting)
• AVR (Aortic Valve Replacement)
• MVR (Mitral Valve Replacement)
• MAZE procedure
• TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement)

Work Schedule & Environment

• Scheduled according to facility policy
• Expected to work every other weekend and holidays on a rotating basis with hospital staff
• Scrub color for surgical staff: Ciel Blue
• Friendly, flexible personality preferred

Contract Length

• 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
