Description

Job Opportunity: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)

Location: Aberdeen, Washington
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Overview

The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) provides essential support to the Operating Room (OR), Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), and Day Surgery areas. Responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness and aseptic conditions, preparing equipment and supplies for procedures, and assisting with clerical or administrative duties as needed.


Work Schedule

  • 40 hours per week
  • Primarily day shifts (8-hour shifts)
  • Hours may vary according to OR schedule
  • On-call hours required
  • Holidays typically off unless on-call

Requirements

  • Current certification by the Association of Surgical Technologists (CST)
  • Minimum 1 year hospital surgical background preferred (interpreted as required experience)
  • Current Washington state license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Successful completion of Surgical Technologist Course or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of OR functions, asepsis, and sterile techniques
  • Ability to work skillfully under stressful conditions and with various physicians
  • Working knowledge of surgical instruments and equipment
  • Physical ability to lift and move equipment and patients as specified:
    • Lift 40 pounds from floor to waist and chair to bed level
    • Pull 50 pounds from stretcher to bed
    • Push 50-pound stretcher 300 feet
    • Lift 5 pounds overhead
  • Demonstrates sound judgment and decision-making consistent with CST skills
