Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics (Travel/Contract)
Location: Nashua, New Hampshire
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Shift: 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM, 36 hours every other week (EOW) required
- Float/Call: No float or call required
- Patient Age Group: Required - Neonates, Adults, Geriatrics; Preferred - Infants, Pediatrics
- Work Settings: Trauma, Community Hospital, ER, Adult ICU (Preferred: NICU)
- Specialty Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in Respiratory Care
- First-time Travelers: Accepted
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
Licenses & Certifications Required
- Current New Hampshire State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license
- Current CPR certification (BLS)
- CRTT certification
- Epic Charting experience required
- Preferred certifications: NRP, RRT
Clinical Skills & Equipment Experience
- Airway management
- Medication administration
- Ventilator management
- ABGs (Arterial Blood Gases)
- Oxygen therapy
- Suctioning
- Pulmonary toileting
- Nebulizer treatments
- BiPAP, CPAP
- Umbilical blood gases
- EKGs
- Bronchoscope experience preferred
- Equipment: Puritan Bennett ventilators preferred
Compliance & Background Requirements
- Background check within 30 days of start including:
- Social Security verification
- National sex offender registry
- National criminal search
- Education verification
- State and county criminal searches (excluding NH counties; NH state police search required)
- Motor vehicle background check if applicable
- Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within 14 days prior to start
- Physical exam within 1 year prior to start
- Fit mask test (annual) required for clinical candidates
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within last 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (True 2-Step PPD, Qgold, or Tspot within 1 year)
- TB questionnaire
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B immunity or declination waiver
- Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Seasonal flu vaccination (required Oct 31 - Apr 1) or approved exemption
- Respiratory Safety Clearance questionnaire required prior to start
- Two current professional references within last 3 years (one must be from a supervisor)
- Employment application and skills checklist required
Additional Notes
- Travelers who have previously been employed by this health system are not eligible
- Pass/fail dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required within 48 hours of contract signing for certain units
- Various facility-specific immunization exemption forms available for medical or religious reasons
- Photo for badge (passport style, jpeg) required
- Proof of auto insurance required for Home Health and Hospice Care roles
- Annual internal evaluation required for travelers with 1+ year tenure with the agency
