Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Columbus, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse
• Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Shift: 3x12 hour Night shifts
• Schedule: Weekdays with occasional weekends and rotating holidays
• Floating: Must be willing to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 1 nurse to 5 patients
• Key Skills: IV starts, telemetry monitoring, Epic documentation system

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 4 years experience in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry (MS/TELE)
• Minimum 2 years experience specifically in PCU (Progressive Care Unit)
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred (not required)

Certifications Required

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)

Additional Requirements

• Must maintain current state nursing license
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history and fingerprinting (BCI/FBI) required
• Education must be from an accredited nursing program
• Competency exams including medication/pharmacology and dysrhythmia/EKG required
• Physical exam and immunizations/vaccinations required (see below)
• Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start
• References: 2 professional references required, including at least 1 from a manager or formal leadership

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, confirming good health and free of contagious disease
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (adult dose after age 11/12)
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year
• TB questionnaire in lieu of annual TB test renewal
• MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters if low titer
• Hepatitis B: Titer or 3-vaccine series (declination acceptable)
• Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; medical exemption possible with documentation
• Seasonal Flu vaccination or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31)
• COVID-19 vaccination not required but strongly recommended

Important Notes

• No Return to Office (RTO) from 2/15/26 through 2/28/26
• Dynamic and challenging work environment
• Must complete all required background checks, certifications, and health documentation prior to start
• Facility requires fingerprinting with specific codes and timely completion
• Competency exams and certifications must be current and maintained annually where applicable
