Nursing Contract Opportunity - Hilo, Hawaii

Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night shift
Hours: Scheduled 36 hours per week following first full week of orientation
Shift Flexibility: Must be flexible to work various shift lengths and days
Guarantee: No guarantee of hours or shift preference

Licensure & Certifications Required

• Active State of Hawaii nursing license by start of assignment (travelers not currently licensed must apply upon acceptance)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

Experience Requirements

• 2 to 10 years of nursing experience required (use higher value if discrepancy)
• Prior travel experience is required

Job Details

• Unit: Medical Unit (77 beds)
• Nurse-to-patient ratio:

  • Days and evenings: 1:6
  • Nights: 1:8
• May float to Laulima Unit and Cardiovascular Unit
• Types of procedures: Medical unit procedures including use of wound vac, chest tubes
• Equipment used: Meditech EMR, Pyxis
• Dress code: Professional nursing attire

Orientation & Additional Information

• Orientation time provided for each unit
• Must arrive the Thursday before start date for employee health appointment on Friday
• Proof of flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exception required prior to contract start date (flu vaccination can be administered during employee health clearance appointment)
