Job Opportunity: Cardiopulmonary Sleep Technologist
Location: Salida, Colorado
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Work in a two-bed sleep lab with shifts primarily Wednesday to Friday nights, 6:30 pm to 6:00 am (36 hours per week). Schedule includes some holidays, rotating weekends, and possible additional nights to cover vacations or illness. Flexibility to work a fourth night if needed is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, analyze, and integrate patient information to tailor testing procedures.
- Prepare and calibrate sleep study equipment; apply electrodes and sensors per standards.
- Perform polysomnographic procedures including Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MSLT), Maintenance of Wakefulness Test (MWT), parasomnia studies, PAP, oxygen titration, etc.
- Monitor and ensure quality of study data, make necessary adjustments during testing.
- Score sleep/wake stages and clinical events according to professional and center-specific guidelines.
- Generate accurate reports based on sleep study data.
- Provide age-specific care and therapeutic interventions for pediatric to geriatric patients.
- Maintain equipment, comply with safety and infection control standards.
- Maintain current CPR or BCLS certification.
- Communicate effectively with patients and team members; respond to procedural inquiries.
- Comply with professional standards and policies including BRPT Standards of Conduct.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of a polysomnography program from a state-licensed or nationally accredited educational facility, or completion of an AASM A-STEP program with documented proficiency.
- Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (R.P.S.G.T) certification.
- Current BLS certification.
Experience Requirements
- Specialty: Cardiopulmonary / Polysomnographic Technician
- Required Years of Experience: Not explicitly stated; assume entry-level to moderate experience based on certification requirements.
- Prior travel experience: Not required.
Additional Information
- Experience with NOX software is helpful but not mandatory.
- Must be flexible to work occasional weekends, holidays, and additional nights as needed.
