Description
Job Opportunity: Dialysis Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel/Contract
Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Shift: 3x12 hour days (6:30 AM - 7:00 PM), Monday through Saturday
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
On-Call Requirement: Yes, 2 weekday PM call shifts every 4 weeks and 1 PM call shift every 4 weeks
Patient Ratio: 1:2
Floating: No floating between units or sister facilities required

- Specialty: Dialysis RN (Acute Dialysis)
- Years of Experience Required: Minimum 1 year of acute dialysis experience
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

Licensure & Certifications
- Licensure: South Carolina RN license or Compact license must be in hand prior to start
- Required Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
- Preferred Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
- Other Certifications:
- PALS, NRP, TNCC, NIH Stroke, CHEMO, EFM, and others as applicable to specific units (check unit-specific requirements)
- License Verification: Primary source verification required; NURSYS verification required for RNs
- Certification Validity: Certifications must not expire within 30 days of assignment start; renewals required prior to start if expiring soon

Scheduling & Hours

Important Notes
- Hurricane Season: June through November; all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams during this time. Travelers should consider this before accepting or extending assignments.
- Floating: No floating required within or between units.
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
Background Checks
- Annual background check covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years
- Required searches include SSN Trace, Statewide, National Criminal, Sex Offender Registry, FACIS 3, and others
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
Health & Immunization
- Initial physical exam, updated annually
- Fit test for N95 mask within 90 days prior to start, renewed annually
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination form
- Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days or chest X-ray if positive history
- Required immunizations or titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B
- 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Aug-April)
- COVID vaccines highly preferred; declination form required if not vaccinated
Competency Exams
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required
- Competency exam required for applicable units
- Color blindness testing required prior to start
Facility Specific
- Completion of orientation modules prior to start (approx. 2 hours)
- Clear, passport-style photo for badge required before start
- Upload COVID and flu vaccination documentation into facility system

- Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
- Verification of last 3 clinical employers (or all if fewer than 3)
- Complete employment application including all PTO, contract assignments, agency names, and no unaccounted gaps
