Description
Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Outpatient Oncology)
Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Schedule: 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
- Work Setting: Infusion Center and Outpatient Oncology
- Required Skills:
- Biotherapy
- Chemotherapy
- IV Therapy/Infusions
- Medications
- Oncologic Emergencies
- Preferred Experience: Care of patients with Bladder/Kidney, Brain, Breast, Colorectal, ENT, Kidney, Leukemia/Blood Dyscrasias Cancer, and Hematology
- Cancer Center treats all cancers except acute leukemias
- Flu vaccine required for all employees
Certifications Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC certified
- Chemo certification (ONS/ONCC)
- ONS/ONCC certification
Experience Requirements
- Specialty: Registered Nurse in Oncology
- Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years (based on work history verification and references)
- Prior Travel Experience: Required (must have completed at least 1 prior travel contract or 1 month of per diem assignment)
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Criminal Background Check within 90 days, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- E-Verify and I9 documentation required
- Valid State License verification prior to start
- Drug Screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana), updated annually
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
- Immunizations and health documentation required:
- Flu vaccine (or approved medical/religious exemption) for current flu season
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within last year, with annual updates if history positive
- Tdap vaccine within last 10 years preferred
- Documentation of MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) and Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
- N95 Fit Test within 9 months of start, updated annually (client may complete onsite if needed)
Competency Exams
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (must score 80% or higher, valid within 3 years)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (for applicable units, must meet specific scoring and renewal requirements)
- Color Blind Testing (online or in-person)
- General Competency Exam (must score 80% or higher, valid within 3 years)
Additional Requirements
- Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education and license information
- Skills checklist required prior to start and updated annually
- Photo for badge with specific guidelines (clear, centered, no glare, solid background)
- Completion of facility-specific modules (SITELS) prior to start date
