Job Opportunity: Surgical Services (CST) - Travel/Contract

Location: Westwood, New Jersey
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)

Job Details

• Specialty: Surgical Services (Certified Surgical Technologist - CST)
• Heavy Orthopedic experience required
• Minimum 1 year of specialty experience required
• Prior travel experience not required
• Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour days, block schedule available
• Must take call and work rotating weekends
• Locals within 50 miles are not accepted

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NBSTSA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting)
• ACLS, PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, MAB, CPI certifications as applicable
• State License verification required
• Tech Cert Verification - National as applicable

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required upon hire
• Education verification required (highest level)
• Work history verification for 7 years (NJ requires minimum 1 year prior to start with limited gaps)
• Complete application/resume required
• Unit-specific skills checklist required annually
• References: 2 professional references for travel/allied/per diem acute care within 2 years

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start, must renew annually
• Immunizations/vaccinations required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
  • Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination accepted)
  • Varicella (positive titer, 2 vaccines, or documented history)
  • Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
  • COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (declinations not accepted)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start

Additional Notes

• Clear headshot photo required for badge
• Must comply with facility-specific orientation and safety manual acknowledgements
• Candidates must be able to pass medication/pharmacology competency exams and color blindness testing as applicable
• Fingerprinting required for new contracts (specific to certain states)
