Job Summary: Radiology / Cardiology Technologist (Travel/Contract)

Location: Chicago, Illinois
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Graduation from a hospital-based two-year training program in Radiologic Technology or Associate’s Degree Program in Radiology Technology
• ARRT registered in Radiography (ARRT)(R)
• CPR - Basic Life Support certification through American Heart Association
• Clinical and technical competency in Mammography to meet MQSA requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• Three or more years of experience in Radiology/Cardiology specialty (3+ years required)

Licensure

• Traveler will obtain Illinois Emergency Medical Agency (IEMA) license once booked (usually takes about a week)

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA only, required for Radiology Tech
• ARRT Certification: Must be current
• Other certifications such as ACLS, PALS, NRP, EFM, NIH Stroke Certification may be required depending on specialty area (verify with recruiter)

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start
• Education verification of highest degree completed
• Illinois Healthcare Worker Registry eligibility and fingerprinting (must be completed in Illinois)
• Drug testing: 10-panel within 30 days of start (no instant or dilute results accepted)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, confirming good health and no physical limitations
• Fit mask testing within 12 months of start, updated annually (3M Aura 1870+ required)
• Immunizations and health screenings including:

  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years (TD not accepted)
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray as applicable
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination
  • Hepatitis B vaccine series or declination accepted
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season
  • COVID vaccination series or declination

Additional Requirements

• Completion of competency exam prior to start
• Color blindness test (passing score required)
• Employment history covering 7 years with explanations for gaps over 30 days
• Completion of facility-specific training modules and policy acknowledgements prior to start
• Sexual harassment training (annual update required)
• Confidentiality, information security, cannabis acknowledgment, and scanning technology consent forms must be signed prior to start
• Accommodation request forms for vaccinations if applicable (must be submitted within 24-48 hours of contract signing)
