Travel RN Opportunity - Texas (New Braunfels)

Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) - Perinatal/Labor & Delivery

• Shift: Nights, 7 PM - 7 AM
• Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Provide routine and complex nursing care independently in a perinatal setting.
• Manage clinical situations, make assignments, and delegate care as needed.
• Care for labor and delivery patients with a nurse/patient ratio of 1:2.
• Care for postpartum patients with a nurse/patient ratio of 1:6 (3 moms/3 babies).
• Address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administer medications and treatments, monitor side effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers.

Requirements

Education & Licenses

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• RN License in Texas or compact license.
• Current certifications required:

  • AWHONN Intermediate FHM or NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM)
  • STABLE certification (Post-resuscitation/Pre-transport Stabilization Care of Sick Infants)
  • BLS (AHA)
  • NRP (AHA)
  • ACLS (AHA)

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty (Perinatal/Labor & Delivery).
• Perinatal RN Residency or recent practice in a Perinatal Setting preferred.

Additional Position Requirements

• New hires must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days.
• Precepted onboarding with competency validations specific to Perinatal Services.
• Completion of all annual competency verifications.

Work Environment

• Night shift, 12-hour shifts (7 PM - 7 AM).
• Nurse/patient ratios: 1:2 for Labor and Delivery, 1:6 for Postpartum (3 moms/3 babies).
