Job Opportunity: MRI Technologist (Radiology / Cardiology)

Location: Dayton, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

Seeking an MRI Technologist for a travel contract working 3 shifts of 12 hours each (Friday to Sunday, 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM).

Requirements:

  • Associate degree in Allied Health with a major in Radiologic Technology
  • Certifications:
    • BLS (AHA required)
    • ARRT certification
    • ODH certification
  • Epic experience required
  • Experience with GE MRI equipment required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a large hospital setting (Level 1 preferred, Level 2 accepted)
  • Travel experience preferred (not required)
  • Must be available to work every other holiday
  • Will be fitted for N95 respirator before working on the HRRU unit unless PAPR is offered/needed

Job Responsibilities:

  • Independently perform diagnostic radiographic procedures using proper techniques and contrast media administration
  • Work within scope of practice and licensure for medication administration, equipment operation, and venipuncture
  • Coordinate patient flow and activities within the Radiology Department
  • Maintain equipment in good working condition using professional judgment
  • May perform procedures in other imaging modalities as needed
  • May have on-call responsibilities

Certifications & Licensure

  • BLS (AHA)
  • ARRT
  • ODH certification
  • Ohio state licensure (primary source verification required)
  • Additional certifications may be required depending on unit or specialty

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years in Radiologic Technology in a large hospital environment
  • Travel experience preferred but not mandatory

Work Schedule

  • 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (Friday-Sunday, 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM)
  • Must be available to work every other holiday

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • I-9 and E-Verify documentation
  • Government-issued photo ID
  • Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
  • Education verification (primary source)
  • Physical exam within 2 years indicating fitness for work
  • Drug screening within 72 hours of contract signing and negative 9 or 10 panel drug screen within 12 months
  • Immunizations and health documents including TB test, Hepatitis B, MMR, Varicella, Flu vaccination or approved exemption
  • Respiratory safety clearance and medical questionnaire for respirator use
  • References: 2 professional references within 2 years (1 must be a manager/supervisor)
  • Skills checklist updated within 1 year
  • Competency exams as required by the facility

Additional Notes

  • Premier Health reserves the right to cancel up to 2 shifts during the 13-week contract due to low census
  • Agreement may be canceled with 2 weeks' notice without penalty
  • Travelers are not eligible for employee incentives
  • Must comply with facility-specific safety and orientation requirements

This position is ideal for MRI technologists with solid hospital experience, GE equipment proficiency, and flexibility to work weekend night shifts in a travel contract setting.
