Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (OR RN)
Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 5x8 (0645-1515)
- Specialty: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in specialty
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required (first-time travelers accepted)
- Certifications Required:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - Must be AHA or ARC certified
- ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM, and others may be required based on unit assignment
- License: Valid state nursing license required prior to start
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Criminal Background Check within 90 days, including multi-state searches
- E-Verify and I9 documentation required upon hire
- Drug Screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
- Physical Exam confirming ability to perform work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
- Immunizations and Titers:
- Tdap within 10 years preferred
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, with annual updates if applicable
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) documentation or titers
- Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
- Varicella documentation or titer
- Seasonal Flu Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
- N95 Fit Test within 9 months of start, updated annually (client may complete onsite if needed)
Competency Requirements
- Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam (within 3 years, minimum 80% score)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (for applicable units, annual update required)
- Color Blind Testing (online or in-person)
- Other competency exams as required by unit
Additional Requirements
- Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education and license information
- Skills checklist updated annually
- Facility-specific orientation modules must be completed prior to start
- Clear photo for badge required
Notes
- Locals within 60 miles may be accepted at a different rate
- Valid driver's license required if driving is an essential job function
- Some certifications and competencies may be unit-specific and required upon assignment
This position offers an opportunity for Registered Nurses with at least 2 years of experience in the OR specialty to work a 13-week travel contract in Baltimore, MD. First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
