Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (MS/Tele)

Location: Clinton, Maryland

Job Description

• Position: MS/Tele RN
• Shift: 3 shifts of 12 hours (0700-1930)
• Patient Ratios: 1:6
• Schedule Requirements:

  • Every other weekend required
  • Every other holiday required
  • Float required within units of equivalent or lower acuity level

Required Experience & Skills

• Specialty: Registered Nurse – MS/Telemetry
• Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Cerner experience required
• Skills required:

  • MS/Telemetry
  • Cardiac Monitoring
  • Genitourinary/Renal care
  • IV therapy/Phlebotomy

Certifications & Exams

• Must pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with:

  • Minimum overall score of 80%
  • 100% score on lethal rhythms section
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required (AHA or ARC)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred

Additional Requirements

• Prior travel experience: Not required (First-time travelers accepted)
• Background checks including criminal background, education verification, and federal/state screenings required
• Drug screening within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
• Physical exam confirming ability to perform work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
• Immunizations and health documentation required:

  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within required timeframe
  • Documentation of MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) and Varicella immunity or vaccination
  • Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season

Competency Exams & Training

• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (score 80% or higher) within 3 years
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam annually with required scores as above
• Color blindness testing (online or in-person)
• Facility-specific orientation and safety training required annually

Work History & References

• Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
• Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education and license information

• Locals within 60 miles accepted at a lower rate (not relevant for pay details here)
• Float assignments may include units with equivalent or lower acuity
• Candidate must be able to complete facility-specific modules prior to start date
