Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (ICU Nights)

Location: Roswell, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (ICU)
  • Experience Required: Minimum 1 year ICU experience (higher value confirmed)
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not required (1st time travel OK)
  • Shift: Nights
  • Patient Ratios: 1:2
  • Float Required
  • Rotating Weekends

Required Certifications

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – as applicable
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) – as applicable
  • CHEMO (Chemotherapy) – as applicable
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – as applicable
  • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) – as applicable
  • NIH Stroke Certification – as applicable (expires annually)
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) – as applicable

Licensure & Verification

  • State License primary source online verification required
  • NURSYS Verification required for RN
  • Education Verification required (highest level of education)

Background & Compliance Requirements

  • 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM check required upon hire
  • HHS/OIG check required upon hire
  • Fingerprinting required onsite during orientation (New Mexico placements only)
  • Complete employment application/resume required
  • 7-year work history verification required

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical Exam within 12 months of start
  • Fit Mask Test within 1 year of start, must renew annually
  • Adult Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
  • Negative TB test (2-step PPD, QGOLD, or TSPOT) within 1 year
  • TB Questionnaire for positive TB results, renewed annually
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
  • Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination accepted
  • Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented history required
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
  • COVID-19 Vaccination (Dose 1 and fully vaccinated) or approved medical/religious exemption required

Competency Requirements

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (80% passing score or meet Angoff score)
  • Color Blind Testing (online version acceptable)
  • Competency Exam (minimum 80% passing score or meet Angoff score)
  • Unit-specific Skills Checklist required annually

Additional Notes

  • Clear headshot photo required for badge
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement and HIPAA compliance required
  • References: Internal only; not required for clearance
  • Float and rotating weekend shifts expected
