Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (OR RN) - Travel/Contract
Location: Tyler, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Specialty: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)
- Required Experience: Minimum 2 years in Orthopedics, General Surgery, Neurosurgery, Vascular, and Urology
- Preferred Experience: Experience with DaVinci Robots, endovascular procedures, and ophthalmology is a bonus
- Shift: 10:30 AM - 9:00 PM
- Schedule: 4x10 hour shifts with rotating day off, Monday-Friday plus call (12 call shifts every 6 weeks)
- Charting System: Epic experience required
- Prior Travel Experience: Required
Licensure & Certifications
- Current, valid RN license for Texas (primary source verification required)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - required as applicable
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - required
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - required as applicable
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - required as applicable
- CHEMO (Chemotherapy certification) - required as applicable
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - required as applicable
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) - required as applicable
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) - required as applicable
- NIH Stroke Certification - required as applicable (expires annually)
Required Documents & Verifications
- I9 form
- Driver’s License or State ID
- E-Verify
- 7-year Background Check (including SS trace, county searches, sex offender, education verification)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks upon hire
- Education Verification (highest level of education)
- Fingerprinting (time sensitive for certain states)
- NURSYS Verification for RN license
- Photo for badge
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical Exam within 12 months of start
- Fit Mask Test within 1 year of start (annual renewal required)
- Adult Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
- Negative TB test (2-step PPD, QGOLD, or TSPOT) within 1 year
- TB Questionnaire for positive TB results (renew annually)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; boosters required if negative/equivocal
- Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination accepted
- Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented chickenpox history required
- Negative 10-panel Drug Screen within 90 days of start
- Seasonal Flu Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
- COVID-19 Vaccination (Dose 1 and fully vaccinated) or approved medical/religious exemption required
Competency Requirements
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (minimum 80% score or meet Angoff score)
- Color Blind Testing (online acceptable)
- Competency Exam (minimum 80% or meet Angoff score)
- Annual Core Testing (for subcontractors)
Additional Notes
- Candidates residing in certain Texas counties are not eligible for travel contracts in this state.

- 7-year work history verification required.
This position is ideal for experienced OR RNs with at least 2 years of specialty experience and prior travel contract experience, comfortable with Epic charting and working rotating shifts with call responsibilities.
