Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Opportunity
Location: Huntington, West Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Every other weekend required
- Patient ratios: 1:4-5
- Unit cares for all types of cardiac patients including:
- Pre & post cardiac intervention monitoring (arterial/venous access sites, TR bands)
- Pre-open heart surgery care
- Pre & post pacemaker and ICD permanent insertion
- CHF, stroke patients
- IV drips (Cardizem, dopamine, dobutamine, NTG, antiarrhythmics, platelet-aggregation inhibitors, anticoagulants)
- Experience required with cardiac telemetry pack and IV pumps (initiation and setup of IV drips)
- Familiarity with Pyxis, Sorian clinicals, MAK, glucometers
- Navy blue scrubs required
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only, required for all candidates
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only, required/preferred
- NIH Stroke Certification - required for ICU and PACU (preferred)

Health & Immunization Requirements
- Initial physical exam, updated annually, attesting to ability to meet physical demands
- Immunizations and titers required (with documentation):
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years; medical/religious exemptions only)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (QGold or T-Spot within 6 months, updated annually)
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (positive titers or 2 vaccines/boosters as per CDC guidelines)
- Hepatitis B (surface antibody and antigen titer within 6 months, vaccination series or declination form required)
- Varicella (positive titer or 2 vaccines/boosters)
- Hepatitis A and C antibody titers within 6 months
- Seasonal flu vaccination required annually (medical/religious exemptions require approval and forms)
- COVID seasonal vaccine required; initial series preferred; declination form required if opting out
- Drug testing required within 30 days of start and updated annually (LabCorp only with specified panel)
References & Evaluations
- Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations required
- Performance evaluations required if worked with the system over 1 year
- Internal evaluations required if worked with the system over 2 years
- Complete employment application/resume required
