Job Opportunity: Certified Surgical Technician (CST/ORT) - Travel Position
Location: Santa Fe, New Mexico
Shift: Days, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM
Start Date: February 2, 2026
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Summary
An integral member of the surgical team who supports surgeons throughout operations by preparing, providing, and caring for instruments and equipment while maintaining a sterile field.
Required Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Graduation from a school of Surgical Technology preferred
Certifications/Licenses:
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
- Surgical Tech certification required
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in an acute care hospital setting in the operating room or instrument care environment required (preferred but treated as required)
- Trauma experience required
Skills:
- Knowledge of care and handling of surgical instruments and equipment
- Knowledge of sterilization and cleansing procedures
- Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in English
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Exposure to bloodborne pathogens; adherence to Universal Precautions and Right to Know policies
- Use of protective equipment to prevent exposure to infectious materials or hazardous chemicals
- Heavy physical effort involving standing, walking, and lifting most of the day
- Ability to speak, hear, and communicate both verbally and in writing

- This is a travel contract position
- Backfill replacement role
- Supervised by Clinical Manager Operating Room and Director, Surgical Services
