Description
Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Hospice) - Washington, Everett
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Hospice Registered Nurse
- Territory: Snohomish County, up to a 60-mile radius from the hub/office
- Average Patients per Day: 4-6
- Schedule: Open schedule options including Monday-Friday, Tuesday-Saturday, or Wednesday-Sunday
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
- Types of Cases: Geriatric, end-of-life care
- EMR System: HCHB (Experience required)
- On-call: Not required, but weekend coverage may be needed (discuss during interview)
- Locals Accepted: Yes, at travel rate
- First Time Travelers: No (prior travel experience required)
- License: Must have license in hand for Washington
- Dress Code: Scrubs (any color), no jeans
- Technology Provided: iPad provided; cell phone not allowed
- Mileage: Reimbursed at IRS standard rate
Experience & Certification Requirements
- Years of Experience: Minimum 1 year recent experience in hospice nursing
- Prior Travel Experience: Required (not suitable for first-time travelers)
- Certifications Required:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA, ARC, or Military accepted
- Additional Requirements:
- Timely communication
- Documentation must be completed by 9 AM the following morning
Compliance & Background Checks
- Background checks must be current within 90 days of start and updated annually, including:
- SSN Trace
- County searches for last 7 years
- FACIS Level 1
- Nationwide Sex Offender
- Motor Vehicle Records/Driver’s Record
- Education Verification
- Work History Verification (7 years)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG checks required within 90 days of start
- Fingerprinting requirements for Washington candidates who have not lived in the state for the past 3 years (completed on-site)
- State-specific criminal history and employability status checks as applicable
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within the last 12 months (not required annually)
- Fit mask test (N95 accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (or TB questionnaire if TB on file expires)
- Annual TB questionnaire required
- Immunizations or titers for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- 9-panel drug screen within last 12 months
- Seasonal flu vaccination or facility-specific declination form required
- COVID vaccination or facility-specific declination required
Documentation & History
- 2 professional references required (travel, allied, per diem acute care) within 2 years of start
- Full 7 years of work history required on employment application with no gaps
- Annual skills checklist required
- Employment history verification for 7 years must be completed within 90 days of start
Additional Notes
- Proof of current auto insurance required if job responsibilities include driving
- Facility-specific policies such as Acceptable Use Policy and Agency Background Attestation must be completed prior to start
This position is ideal for experienced hospice RNs with prior travel experience who are licensed in Washington and comfortable with a flexible schedule and documentation requirements.
