Position Details

• Colorectal
• Urology
• Sepsis
• Small Bowel Obstruction (SBO)
• Geriatric Gynecology

Job Summary

• Practice independently in a similar clinical setting.
• Provide routine and complex nursing care.
• Manage long-range goals and clinical contingencies.
• Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers.
• Meet applicable competency standards (Leader of Self, Others, or Leaders).
• Provide nursing care following the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administer medications and treatments per protocol; monitor side effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
• Experience: Minimum 1 year in related nursing specialty (Acute Med/Surg)
• Licenses/Certifications:

  • RN license in Texas or compact license
  • BLS certification (AHA only)
