Description

Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics - Travel/Contract

Location: San Angelo, Texas
Contract Length: 8 weeks
Start Date: Preferred 1/26; may consider 2/9
Schedule: Facility may consider 36 hours/week but prefers 48 hours/week
Certification: CRT or RRT accepted


Experience Requirements

  • Specialty: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
  • Required Years of Experience: Not explicitly stated; assume minimum experience consistent with CRT or RRT credentialing (no prior travel experience required).

Required Certifications

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): AHA or ARC accepted
  • BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA or ARC accepted
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): AHA or ARC accepted; ICU RNs have 1 year to obtain for longer assignments
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure): Required as applicable
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course): Required as applicable; required for ER, ICU RNs have 1 year to obtain for longer assignments
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring): Required as applicable
  • NIH Stroke Certification: Required for ICU and PCU as applicable
  • CHEMO (Chemotherapy): Required as applicable
  • ENPC: Required as applicable
  • Tech Cert Verification - National: Required within 30 days of start
  • State License Verification: Required within 30 days of start
  • NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP): Required within 30 days of start
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement: Required, update annually
  • Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing: Required

Background Checks & Verifications

  • 7-year background check required within 30 days of start
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
  • Education verification required; diploma may be accepted temporarily if verification is pending
  • Pass/Fail exam during orientation (includes Medication Administration, Restraint, Glucometer tests)

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start; must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing
  • Fit test within 6 months prior to start; annual updates required
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year; TB questionnaire required annually
  • Immunizations required (or positive titers/acceptable documentation):
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (positive titer or series with declination form if applicable)
    • Varicella
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
    • Flu seasonal vaccination or declination during flu season (10/31-3/31)
    • COVID initial series required; boosters not required
  • Drug testing required within 30 days; must include standard panel (amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cannabinoid, cocaine, opiates, phencyclidine, methadone, propoxyphene)

  • Clear, passport-style photo for badge
  • Completion of various facility-specific forms prior to start, including:
    • Non-Employee Information Form
    • Vaccine Exemption Form (if applicable)
    • Applicant Health Record Form
    • Code of Conduct and Compliance Form
    • Temporary License Declaration of Residency Form
    • Confidentiality Statement Form
    • Information System Security Agreement Form
    • Non-Employee Orientation Update Form
    • Traveler Orientation
    • Hepatitis B Declination (if no positive titer on file)

Additional Requirements

  • 2 professional references within 3 years of start
  • Copy of resume/application required
  • Skills checklist required; update annually
  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
