Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics - Travel/Contract

Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Employment Type: Travel/Contract

Job Requirements

• Licenses & Certifications:

  • NBRC (RRT) certification required
  • Indiana state license required
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
  • RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist)

• Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty
  • At least 18 months recent ICU experience required
  • Education must be accredited through CoARC and regionally accredited through CHEA

• Shift: Every Other Week (EOW) required

• Floating: Must be willing to float between multiple hospital locations within the system

• Travel Experience:

  • First-time travelers accepted (prior travel experience NOT required)

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Background Checks:

  • Must include 7 years of residence/work history
  • Social Security Number trace, county and statewide criminal checks, national sex offender registry, FACIS Level III
  • Education verification
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start

• Health & Immunization:

  • Physical exam within 12 months of start
  • Fit mask test within 12 months (specific approved respirators required)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Immunizations or positive titers required for:

    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Varicella (Chickenpox)
    • Hepatitis B (series, titer, or signed declination)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap preferred but not required
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required for flu season (9/30 - 3/31)
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months

• Competency & Skills:

  • Medication test/pharmacology competency exam (not required for Techs or RRTs)
  • Unit competency exam required
  • Color blind testing (Ishihara exam or equivalent) with 100% minimum score

• References & Employment History:

  • Minimum 2 references from recent employment within 2 years
  • Employment application with full work history and explanations for gaps of 30+ days
  • Skills checklist completed within 12 months and annually thereafter

Additional Notes

• Mandatory Training:

  • RRT candidates must complete 22 mandatory IU Health RRT modules prior to orientation (paid time)
• Facility Policies:

  • Indiana RN travelers (except Periop/OR RN’s, Allied, and Ambulatory RN travelers) will not be allowed to work past 11/30/24 at IU Health facilities
• Floating Locations: Methodist, University, Fishers, Morgan
