Travel RN Opportunity – Portsmouth, New Hampshire

Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Medical Unit
• Location: Portsmouth, NH

Unit Description

• Unit Type: Cardiac step-down unit from CSSU and IVCU, med/surg telemetry, stroke overflow
• Patient Population: No post Cath lab patients unless radial artery used; includes chest pain rule out, CHF, COPD, cardiac management, chest tubes, hi-flow and BiPAP, thoracentesis, peritoneal dialysis (PD), tracheostomies, pacemakers, cardiac cath, CIWA protocol
• Number of Beds: 20
• Patient Ratios: 5:1
• Staffing: 4 RN teams with free CNC, 2 LNA’s, and a Unit Clerk
• Equipment: IV pumps, Sara Steady’s, Hi-flow, BiPAP, Kangaroo pumps
• Documentation System: Meditech Expanse
• Scheduling: 3 shifts of 12 hours each, plus every other weekend or 4-week shift rotation
• Floating Policy: Not specified
• Patient Experience: Bedside shift rounds and handoff required

Certifications & Licenses Required

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NIH Certification
• Registered Nurse License (valid in New Hampshire)

Skills & Experience

• Required Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty (Cardiac/Telemetry nursing)
• Requested Skill Set: Proficient in telemetry monitoring
• Advanced Skills Needed: Experience with thoracentesis, peritoneal dialysis, tracheostomies, pacemakers, cardiac catheterization, and CIWA protocol
